    Job Description: Are you a hardworking individual with a passion for maintaining golf course equipment? Aberdeen Golf Club is seeking a dedicated Golf Course Mechanic to manage our golf cart fleet and course equipment. While experience in the golf business is helpful, it is not necessary as we are willing to train the right candidate.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on golf carts, mowers, and other course equipment
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues to ensure equipment operates efficiently
    • Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of equipment
    • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, and order replacements as needed
    • Collaborate with groundskeeping staff to ensure equipment is ready for daily use
    • Follow safety protocols and regulations while working on equipment

    Qualifications:

    • Strong mechanical skills with experience in equipment maintenance and repair
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
    • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and equipment
    • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
    • Experience in the golf industry is a plus but not required

    We currently have an opening for a Turf Equipment Technician in our Berkeley, Missouri location.  The successful candidate will be an outstanding mechanic with above average diagnostic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical skills.  The position is full-time, Monday - Friday, 1st shift.  $28 - 35 / hour DOE

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Set up equipment per manufacturer and customer specifications.
    • Install necessary parts, check fluid levels, test and assure proper operation.
    • Operate and test equipment to ensure quality standards are met.
    • Safely and effectively use all service and repair tools:  hoist, welder, test equipment, pressure washer, compressors, power tools etc.
    • Safely operate a forklift.
    • Maintain cleanliness and safety of shop area.
    • Effectively work within a team to meet customer needs
    • MTI provides specialized tools specific to our products, however the successful candidate provides his/her own hand and power tools. 

    Education and/or Experience

    • Technical degree (2yr.) or equivalent experience required.
    • Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in diagnosing problems with gas and diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
    • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Parts based lookup tools, Diagnostic Software 
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
    • Strong customer service/communication skills.

    Assistant Superintendent

    • Persimmon Woods Golf Club is seeking a resolute, enthusiastic, and diligent individual to join our Golf Course Maintenance Team. Persimmon Woods is a golf-only club, and we are proud that GolfWeek Magazine has ranked Persimmon Woods the 5th Best Private Club in Missouri in 2020 and 2021! We are a business that continues to invest in our property. In June 2024 we will be closing the greens and doing a complete rebuild. The renovation will include a new growing medium, gravel, drainage, 0-0-7XL bent grass, irrigation, and new surrounds with HGT bluegrass. The selected individual will be involved in the renovations and will acquire valuable in-depth knowledge of what it takes to complete a renovation of this size. The greens are scheduled to reopen in late April, 2025. In this time frame additional capital improvements are being completed such as cart path, bridges, wall construction, additional turf renovations, and much more. The long-term objective is to continue to enhance the private atmosphere of the club and build on one of the best golf experiences in St Louis. 

      The assistant superintendent position model is designed to prepare the incumbent for advancement in the golf course industry. An initiative-taking individual will acquire the skills and experience needed to be a successful Golf Course Superintendent by being involved in all levels of upper management, including:

    • ·       Chemical and fertilizer application programs
    • ·       Daily decision through the golf shop to appeal to the members needs.
