PARKS WORKER - GOLF COURSE

PGS/Parks

Full-time

Hours will vary; weekends and holidays as required. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

May identify and correct agronomic problems as they may occur. May perform grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, planting, pruning, trimming and irrigation system installation and maintenance. May perform general labor to repair and maintain golf course. May apply fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. Operates and performs minor maintenance to light and heavy equipment, power tools and motorized equipment. May perform snow removal activities. Performs all work in compliance with established City safety standards. Performs other work as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.

High School graduate or GED certificate.

One (1) year of applicable experience.

Motor Vehicle Operator’s license valid in the state of Missouri, or obtain within one (1) month of employment.

Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 lbs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Considerable skills in operating and maintaining a variety of tools and light equipment.

Experience in horticulture, arboricultural, or grounds maintenance including landscape installation, bed maintenance, mowing and tree care.

Experience in pond management.

Experience with irrigation systems including design, installation and repair.

Familiarity with City streets, parks, trails and common ground.

RATE:   $18.97/hr. to $21.45/hr., depending on qualifications and experience.
