Justen reported:

Upcoming event – (9) Hole event at Highlands, Monday, August 15, 2016. Dave Pini host. Approx 20 signed up now.

Next event – Fall Classic, Monday Sept 12, 2016 at Joachim Golf Course. Host Craig Schoon. Option to play 9 or 18. Golf fees – 9 @ $9 or 18 @ $25. Looking at 18 hole with (9) 2-man scramble and (9) alternate shot. Entry fee likely at $45. Shotgun start @ 9:00 AM. Drinks sponsored by Keeven with food (Jimmy Johns) to be covered by entry fee. Par 3’s by Leisure Ponds.

Winter Shop Tour – @ Bellerive CC set for December 12, 2016. Still working on slate of speakers.

Research [Rob Schaff / Rob Kick]

Kick discussed potential letter to all Class A, SM and C members, requesting donation to the KIG effort. Pledge amounts were discussed ranging from $100 - $500 per member club/golf course. Kick to re-draft KIG donation request letter and send to Chuck for dispersal through emails to all above mentioned MV members.

Current balance - $50,613.09   ($12,575 expense from Green Cup paid this month)


Highlands is a go. Hopefully more to sign up.


Member dues status: 167 (67%) of 215 dues are now paid. Total income to date $23,815.           47 unpaid at approx. $7,630. 26 new members so far for calendar year 2016. Sept 1st is the date all unpaid members will be dropped from the membership list resulting in denied access to member section of website and inability to sign up for events on-line.


Chris Rapp has requested permission to promote connection with MVGCSA when recruiting potential high school equipment managing students at job fairs such as Linn State. Likely to use MVGCSA logo on recruitment flyers. Board was in agreement to grant permission.


Scholarship applications are due to the MVGCSA office by the October 1st deadline. An email notice with scholarship information has been sent to all members of the MVGCSA. Submission information is also available on the website.

An invoice will be sent to all website advertisers (3) to renew their annual fee of $800 to allow display of their logo and direct access to their website from our MVGCSA home page. The $800 annual fee will allow advertisers a spot on the MV homepage from Jan 1 thru Dec 31st each year.


MoGIC check has been received by the office. Total $1,700 for the Dec 2015 MoGIC event.


Gateway Green articles are due by the end of the month. Request to send articles to Paul ASAP.

Looking at late October (maybe Wed or Thur last week of Oct) for next Assistants meeting. Possible 9-hole event followed by a round table discussion. Possible venue OWCC.

Associate Liaisons  [Ed Eschbacher / Dan Randant]

Education survey has been sent. Results trickling in. Dan Lloyd is reviewing information as it is submitted. Future education programs to be formulated from results of this survey.

Discussion of potential dues increase to be voted on at next annual meeting. Last dues increase occurred in 2006. May add a clause in bylaws directing that potential annual dues increases be reviewed on a periodic basis (i.e. every 2 years).

Motion was made by Tim Roethler and seconded by Rob Kick to accept dues increase proposal as submitted by the committee along with change of member classification to bring MVGCSA in line with GCSAA revised guidelines. Motion passed. (Please see entire proposal attached)

Motion was made by Mike Null and seconded by Rob Kick to propose an amendment to bylaws to provide a review process of the MVGCSA dues structure on every odd numbered year. Motion passed.
